In the year 11742 as reckoned on the Imperial calendar, though better known among the common folk as the Year of the Dragon King, the long forgotten Empire of Ith flamed to life, carving land for itself from the frozen tundras of Daragon.
In the Second Age of the World, long before the ascendency of humanity, a series of empires rose and fell. The greatest of these was the dragonkind Empire of Ith. Possessed of immense power and arcane secrets, Ith extended its control beyond the boundaries of the mortal realm into the worlds beyond. When Ith fell, a prophesy told of a future time when the empire would return. There are those who believe that time has come.
The Ith of today is a fledgling, but powerful, kingdom, clawed from the frozen tundras of Daragon. At its heart, a core of fiercly nationalistic dragonkind who believe they are witnessing ancient prophecy unfold in the personage of Graul Emberscale. These are joined by nearly a hundred thousand archons that came to Graul after witnessing him kill their lord Imix.
